Welcome to my Blog!

This blog is a photo journal of what is happening in my life professionally and personally. I have the most fabulous job in the world, documenting love and beauty. 150 years from now we will all be gone, but our photos will remain. I strive to not only create great pictures, but pictures that are heirloom worthy. After we meet, this is where I showcase you to the world. Be sure to bookmark this and check back for updates.

New York Photography Workshop

Attended Pauline St. Denis wedding photography workshop in New York last Sunday. Money well spent. Pauline has extensive experience and knowledge in photography and that’s what you want in an instructor. They have been there and done it. My mom used to say “He/She eats more salt then you.”

Learning and seeing new things is so important in this field because of how fast technology is changing. Doing photography isn’t 100% all about taking great looking pictures. There’s the business end of things and that can make or break you. I think no matter what level you are at, be it beginner, intermediate or advance; you should always make an attempt to attend workshops because there’s so much potential for growth. It’s the perfect opportunity to try new things and to shoot in a different way that you normally don’t shoot. Learning on an actual paid job is not the best bet.

Since I’m so anxious about arriving late, I started the day really early. I took the New Century bus in Chinatown and arrived at the workshop two hours early. Crazy…

Gorgeous model. I’d kill to have a few inches of her height.

Setting up the ginormous softbox.

We went outside for more pictures and people keep coming up to me and asking what are we doing. Is it a real wedding? If I was getting married and there’s like 15 photographers flashing me at every angles; I’d need at least a bottle of Vodka on hand.

This workshop, Wedding Photography: An Editorial Approach is hosted by Adorama. Here is the link to future classes if anyone is interested.

Time at the Mall

Visited my cute nephew Wesley for a shopping outing at Depford Mall in New Jersey. I say an outing because the whole “shopping” lasted for 8 hours. Other than shoe shopping and watching movies, I don’t go to the mall unless I have to. I have nothing against shopping. My problem is I want to buy everything. Especially things that glitters or have ruffles on it.

Wesley is at a stage where we call “Terrible Twos.” I don’t know about terrible, but this boy got some energy! And contagious smiles.

Here’s that smile!

We saw some birds in the parking lot and though it’ll be fun for Wesley to run like crazy towards it.

Wesley looking for a gift to give to that special someone this Valentine :)

Kids are really weird. As soon as they saw the train they start getting excited and screaming for it. But when it comes time to ride it, they start crying.

Florence and Venice. These two little girls are so cute. They are my sister-in-law friend’s daughter. The poor dad couldn’t hardly keep up with them.

My nephew has grown up so fast. He’s not a baby anymore but a kid. To all the parents out there…take pictures of your kids EVERYDAY. They are not going to be young like that forever. Put in the time and start clicking!!

WPPI

It’s final! I will be going to WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) come March in Las Vegas. I got my WPPI membership in the mail today. WPPI is the biggest event a photographer could hope to attend to gain more knowledge and network with other photographers. I already signed up for a workshop with the super talented JB & DeEtte Sallee. So excited!! I feel like a kid in a candy store. As 2009 is fast disappearing and people coming up with their New Year resolutions, always remember you will only go as far as you allow yourself to go. Best wishes in the New Year!
