Congrats to Namrata and Adam on their precious newborn baby. Meet adorable Shaila. 10 days old. She was up all night keeping her parents entertained so we though most likely she would be knocked out after feeding when I get to their house. Haha nope. She was awake for most part of the session but did marvelous and photographed beautifully. It was great chatting with you guys during the many feeding times and set up changes. Looking forward to seeing more of Shaila in the future and thanks for the delicious dinner!

I though it would be great to show these two pictures together as a poignant reminder to how life unfolds. It was only on January 1st when we did the maternity session and now little Shaila is already 10 days old in the picture.

Love this photo from last week wedding of Marie and Fred at the Downtown Club 2nd shooting for Todd Zimmermann. Windy, raining and snowing…we couldn’t ask for a better weather in February.

Continuing on with my old post highlighting certain aspect of wedding planning is personalization. I find it very important to have your personality shine through; after all it is your special day with your significant other. This idea of personalization is nothing new. I’ve seen it all the time here and there at weddings but it really dawn to me while shooting a Bat Mitzvah event not long ago. I find Mitzvah event always have a theme and this theme is always something that the person really enjoys. Be it cars, sports, fashion, dancing, a certain era, etc. For example, in this particular event, we can see that our Bat Mitzvah girl is really into sports. She does tennis and gymnastics.

Notice how even the cake, flowers, table cloth, chair setting and lighting of the room blends well together to create something really pleasing and personal. Blue and purple could be her favorite colors.

If the couple really puts in the effort to personalizing their wedding (be it a beach theme with seashells, soft colors and seafood or each table being named the countries that the couple have vacation together) it would make for a more special and rewarding occasion. Till the next post, happy planning!
